Domain

Daily

Each day assembled from the other domains' day reports, plus where I was and how I travelled.

I forget most of what I did in a day by the evening. The facts are all somewhere: a workout in Health, a payment in Finance, a meeting in Meetings. Daily puts them on one timeline.

It is the one domain that reads all the others, and it does that the same way anyone else would, through each domain's interface.

How a day is built

Every source reports its day

Health

activity and sleep

Finance

what I spent

Meetings

what I agreed to

Places

where I was, from the iPhone app

The day's evidence

every report for the day kept together, unchanged

A late fact

such as a purchase that arrives after the day was read; it joins the day's evidence

The day's reading

written across every source, following a versioned schema, and read again whenever new data reaches the day

No day is closed on a deadline. A day still waiting for a source stays visible with its status, and a better model can rebuild every reading from the same evidence.

How Daily builds a day. Every source reports its day, the reports are kept together as evidence, and a model reads the day across all of them.
  1. 01

    Every domain reports its day

Each domain answers one question the same way: what happened today, from where it stands. Health reports activity and sleep, Finance what I spent, Meetings what I agreed to.

  2. 02

The reports become the day's evidence

Daily keeps every report for a day together, unchanged. That bundle is the evidence the day is read from.

  3. 03

    A model reads the day

A model connects the dots across domains and writes the day's reading, following a versioned schema. A better model can rebuild every reading later from the same evidence.

  4. 04

    Late facts are not lost

A late purchase can arrive after the day has been read. When new data reaches a day, Daily reads that day again.

Places and time

Where I was
The iPhone app records stays and how I moved between them. I name the places that matter, and one place can cover several spots.
Not reading too much into it
Being at the office does not mean I was working, so Daily does not turn presence into work hours.
Days stay open
No day is closed on a deadline. A day still waiting for a source stays visible with its status until it is complete.

Locations come from the iPhone app. The day's timeline and reading appear on Today and Days in the console, where any day can be read again with one button.

Daily is what a federation makes possible. No single domain knows my day, and none of them has to: each reports its part, and Daily reads them together.
